I don’t know about you, but I have trouble remembering what day of the week it is, so it’s no surprise that Volunteers Week 2020 has crept up on me.

It’s officially Volunteers Week (1 – 7 June). The week was created as an excuse to say a big “Thank You” to volunteers up and down the country.

So here it is … THANK YOU!

One small way we are trying to say thank you is via this magazine.

It’s been a bit tricky to put this edition together as we have not been able to just pop along and chat to you; plus we’ve gone digital. But here it is and I hope you find at least some of it entertaining and perhaps even inspiring.

You might think you have not been missed, but from this end it’s very clear that you have – and not just by us.

Residents from Treherbert to Newport have been constantly asking when you are opening again and hoping you are all well.

The Big Return

Our staff will be back to sort out the shops before we ask any of you to return.

The shops need adapting and we obviously have to get things right before we open. But hopefully that will not be too long.

We will contact your directly before we open.

So before we see you all again – I’d like to leave you with a song that I hope puts a smile on your face – it does mine.
