Wastesavers Trucks Vandalised

A total of fifteen (15) recycling collection vehicles at the Wastesavers depot in Esperanto Way, Newport, were vandalised over the weekend.

The damage is extensive and costs will be considerable.

Four collection vehicles of the fleet of 22 were considered roadworthy after repairs and started collections late this morning (Monday 23.3.15), but will be running late.

If your collection was due today (Monday) PLEASE leave your boxes out as normal – they will be collected in the next few days.

There should be a normal service for the rest of the week – please leave your boxes out as normal.

Penny Goodwin, CEO of Wastesavers said; “This is an act of pure vandalism that we cannot plan for. We will be working through the night to get as many of the trucks back on the road as soon as possible.

“We apologise for delays to the recycling collection service and our teams will be working overtime all this week to catch up.”
