Why volunteer with Wastesavers?

Our volunteer programme is person centric and we take a ‘what matters’ approach to our volunteers activities, so you design and determine your own involvement and what you would like to achieve, where and when, such as socialising, helping the environment, or gain work experience for a way back into employment.

We have a variety of volunteer roles in retail, IT refurbishment, customer service and delivery & collections.

Volunteer Statistics

Our volunteers use these words to describe their involvement with Wastesavers:

In total we employ 53 staff in the charity, 15 of which started with Wastesavers as volunteers. We currently have over 142 active volunteers, who will contribute over 30,000 hours for 2023/24, helping us to divert a massive 1064 tonnes of reusable items from landfill, made up of over 500,000 items.
