We have done since the mid 90’s. We collect recycling in bags and boxes from all 72,000 houses and flats on a weekly basis.

What bin to use
No plastic bags or crisp packets please

Cardboard Tip: Please fold your cardboard so that it fits in your recycling bag. We
are able to take an additional bundle of card similar in size to your bag if you have a lot.
However if your cardboard is larger than your bag, cannot be broken down or is in large volumes then please take this to the household waste recycling centre. Thank you!
What bin to use
We can take clothes and shoes (tied in pairs). Please keep these dry by putting them in a
plastic bag so they can be reused.
I am afraid we cannot take bedding, household linen or material.
What bin to use
All food waste including:
Please no plastic packaging, plastic bags or chewing gum.
Food waste liners are available from all libraries, Wastesavers reuse centre and Tip Shop. Alternatively order more liners here.
What bin to use
Kettles, irons, toasters, chargers, phones or any small electrical items that can fit in the green recycling box.
Please note: we cannot accept TVs or computer monitors. However if these are reusable please donate to Wastesavers Tip Shop or Reuse Centre.
We are committed to using waste as a resource so it can be used again and again, reducing our impact on the environment. This means we need to collect the recycling in a manner that ensures its value is maintained. Its really important we keep it separate
so they can recycle it into new products.
Well, it means not mixing it all up together and getting baked beans on the cardboard and glass shards in the plastic! This is why we ask our residents to use separate boxes and bags rather than mixing them together in one bin. We can then keep the material clean, see if something that cannot be recycled has been placed in the container by mistake. If too much recycling gets mixed (or contaminated) we can’t recycle it. By separating your recycling into different containers we ensure we can recycle everything you give us.
We are committed to keeping as much recycling in the UK as possible. We chose our reprocessors carefully, ensuring we are working with reputable businesses who help turn our bottles, cans and card into valuable resources to be used again.
By keeping your material separate and not mixing it up we ensure we get the best value for it that the market has to offer. We then use this to help pay wages, put fuel in our trucks and operate our plant, reducing the cost to the taxpayer.

Wastesavers work to a triple bottom line; That means the environment, people and finances are all of equal importance to us. In everything we do we ensure that the environment is a priority (I mean, it is why we do what we do!). So are people – our staff and volunteers, our community and stakeholders. All while ensuring we make enough money to pay wages, ensure we can put fuel in our trucks and keep our recycling plant operating.
Last year we became a real living wage employer, our charity gained its ‘Investing in Volunteers’ quality mark and we took further steps to make our company a great place to work for staff. All whilst diverting 22,000 tonnes of material from landfill or incineration (that’s about 13,750 family cars or about 4,075 African elephants).
