Wastesavers IT Recycling and Reuse is appealing to companies for their unwanted IT equipment as demand is currently outstripping supply.

“Our new social inclusion programme clients are asking for more computers all the time,” said Gareth Clabon, Wastesavers IT Recycling Operations Manager,  “In the last month we have picked up well over 300 items from companies across south east Wales, but we are always looking for more, whether they are reusable or not.”

The Wastesavers policy of reusing whenever possible is backed up by a promise that nothing goes to landfill. “We have found an online market for the components we strip out of computers that we can’t get working again,” Gareth explained, “so we are happy to take IT equipment that no longer works too.”

Security is another issue for companies and organisations looking to dispose of unwanted IT.  The Wastesavers recycling process exceeds current data destruction legislation and provides companies with a full disposal trail for any one computer unit.

Computer units that can be reused are made available to individuals and community groups that would not normally be able to afford a computer. Our social programmes also provide IT training, giving people a greater chance of getting work as they develop new skills.

Collections are free (subject to a minimum number of units and not too many monitors, which are classified as hazardous waste).  With guaranteed data destruction and the promise of nothing going to landfill anyone looking to dispose of computer equipment is urged to contact us online or call 01633 216 855.
